Description    

    Support the Legal Department in with its litigation, arbitration, and employment and labor-related cases.
    Litigation support tasks include but are not limited to accepting service of legal documents, drafting and issuing document preservation notices, reviewing and organizing documents for discovery, creating privilege logs, redacting confidential information from discovery responses, coordinating materials and witnesses for outside counsel, serving as focal point for all discovery activities, preparing witness and matter material for case preparation, proofreading papers, organizing exhibits, creating document indices, and preparing and filing all court documents, among other things.
    Arbitration support tasks include but are not limited to assisting with witness preparation, conducting legal research organizing documents, creating exhibits, assisting at arbitration, drafting forms, conducting preliminary background investigations, preparing witness and matter material for case preparation, proofreading papers, organizing exhibits, creating document indices, and preparing and filing all court documents, among other things.
    Employment and Labor-related support tasks include but are not limited to working with governmental agencies, conducting legal research, writing initial drafts of position statements, doing preliminary fact-gathering, supporting internal business partners during audits, and updating forms, among other things.
    In-take cases, make initial discovery requests, and maintain case files.
    Gather information, analyze data, and prepare initial affirmative action plans.
    Perform research assignments of a legal or fact-finding nature. Be proficient on PACER, Lexis, and Westlaw.
    In-take, analyze and respond to subpoenas and civil investigation demands.
    Serve on emergency response team to oversee records gathering and retention activities.
    Act as a liaison among various internal departments as well as with outside agencies, corporations, law firms, and other entities.
    Coordinate with and back-up other paralegals and legal coordinators, as the need arises.
    Other duties as assigned.

Requirements    
    Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    Must have ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably.
    At least ten years’ experience in employment litigation paralegal position in a law firm or corporate environment.
    At least five years of experience compiling affirmative action plans.
    Must have ability to work effectively and collaboratively, think practically, and be solution-oriented.
    Must be able to prioritize, work independently, and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
    Must be resourceful and willing to work across multiple practice areas.
    Minimum age of 18.
    Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
    College degree (or equivalent) and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program required. Inactive attorneys will also be considered.

 Preferred Requirements

    Experience working in the airline industry
    Experience working with labor and employment law
    Experience with the Railway Labor Act
